General Information

Canoes and Kayaks can be rented at several locations in Incline, King's Beach, and other surrounding areas. A two and a half man canoe/kayak and a one man kayak, both with paddles and life vests may also be available from us for your use with advance notice. Please inquire if you are interested. Of course, you assume all risks of their use.

The boat launch in Incline Village, called Ski Beach, is located just across Lakeshore Blvd. from the Incline Hyatt. This boat launch is available only for residents and their guests. In order to launch a boat at the Incline Village beaches you will need a blue "guest pass" punch card for your party. A guest pass card will be with the maps and other information on the kitchen counter of the guest house when you arrive. Be sure to take it with you if you plan to visit the beaches or boat launch in Incline Village. You are responsible for payment of any punches you use on the card. There are other places nearby (Sand Harbor, King's Beach) that have less restrictive beach entrance policies.

Favorite Trips

Lakeshore Excursion

The counterpart to the Lakeshore bike ride, this will show you the lake side of the mansions that face the lake. Some of these estates have sold for over $40,000,000.

Incline to Thunderbird Lodge

If you skirt the east shore and head south for a couple of hours, well past Sand Harbor, you will encounter the famous Thunderbird Lodge. Until recently privately owned, this is now managed by the Forest Service so it is now probably legal to land here and walk around. You might want to check that before you do it though.

Emerald Bay

If you will be around South Lake Tahoe with a boat, be sure to paddle over to lovely Emerald Bay. Have a picnic on the little island. I would not recommend paddling from North Shore (Incline Village) to Emerald Bay--it's about 25 miles.
