Some of my personal interests
- Open source software tools and methods
Linux is my operating system of choice.
Python is my programming language of choice.
- Artificial intelligence
Dynamic, biological approaches, particularly spiking neural networks, not physical symbol system approaches.
- Flying powered planes and hang gliders
My best cross country flights on a hang glider are:
- McClellan peak, NV, to south of Silver Springs NV (about 15 miles)
- Slide Mountain, NV, to Boomtown, CA (about 15 miles over Mt. Rose Wilderness--no LZs there!)
- Slide Mountain, NV, to near Heavenly, South Lake Tahoe NV (about 15 miles)
Here is why it is important that your launch crew pay attention.
The launch was ultimately successful.
Some hang gliding related pictures taken at Fort Funston, near San Francisco.
- Evolutionary Theory, Complexity Theory
- Skepticism and the nature of belief
Skeptic and Skeptical Inquirer are two of my favorite things to read.
- Alternative education
- Politics
Particularly education policy and the maintenance of liberty.
